Colleges of Distinction 2024-2025 | NursingAs a first-year student, you’ll find yourself launching head-first into a rigorous curriculum. With the support of an experienced nursing faculty adviser, you’ll receive academic and professional guidance throughout your nursing education at Shenandoah. If you're interested in a different kind of challenge to supplement your nursing education, you can also apply to Shenandoah's 荣誉项目. You will also have direct access to a full range of student-life activities on and off campus. After you’ve completed your studies, you’ll sit for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX), prepared with the skills and knowledge to apply for entry-level professional nurse positions.

The 加速BSN track is an innovative second degree program that allows students with non-nursing degrees to quickly become an entry-level nurse.

The 15-month ABSN track is designed for students who already hold a bachelor’s degree in a non-nursing discipline to quickly complete a 护理学学士学位. Your existing bachelor’s degree will fulfill most of your non-nursing courses, allowing you to focus exclusively on your Nursing studies and earn a traditionally four-year BSN in only 15 months.

A Safe and State-of-the-Art Way To Practice Nursing Skills

Our simulation suite’s high-fidelity simulation spaces mimic real-world clinical settings, 包括分娩和分娩, a medical/surgical hospital room, 小公寓, and a combination ER/ICU and feature state-of-the art adult, pediatric, birthing and newborn simulators, all of which respond to nursing interventions with the expected human physiologic response. This means that they can accept IV catheters; bleed; have heart, lung and bowel sounds; and have chest-rise when breathing. They’re even wired for sound, so they can respond appropriately to students’ care. 

 

Within this suite, our students expand upon their didactic, clinical and skills lab learning. It’s a safe learning environment that enables students to make mistakes, challenge their thinking and develop clinical judgment.
